Trish's Team of Class Instructors

Claire Heath-Sillence - Claire has 12 years experience in teaching dancing and drama with children and young people. She is a ‘Reading Girl’ educated at St Josephs Convent School and attended a dance school from the age of 3 to 18. At 18 she completed her ISTD (Imperial Society Teachers of Dance) teacher training and also began to perform professionally. She then went on to do a BA honors degree in performing Arts and Media Communication. At this time she performed in various Musical and Stage Shows (Aspects of Love, Babes in Arms, 42nd Street to name a few). After graduating in July 03 she has been teaching for several dance schools and charities. Her two children Rory and Gracie are huge fans of MAD Academy and have gained so much from their classes that she has been inspired to teach for MAD herself!

Elaine Edmondson - Elaine has worked for the MAD academy for about 3 year’s now, and has been teaching very successful classes in the Wokingham area. She has had a break recently to have another baby in July (Joshua) but after having spent her maternity leave teaching him all the songs is now raring to go MAD as a class leader once again. I am really pleased and exited that she has agreed to come and work for the Reading and Newbury branch.

Elaine discovered MAD Academy when looking for a class for her daughter, Caitlin, and they both enjoyed them so much, she became a teacher! She began singing and dancing at a young age, and danced with the Devon Dance company, before attending the Sylvia Young Theatre School.

Elaine spent many happy years working as a Butlins Redcoat and Costume Performer, appearing as both ‘Noddy’ and ‘Big Ears’ in Toyland, before moving to Berkshire.

Deby - Deby has been enjoying MAD academy lessons since their very conception.  She has been an ardent fan of the classes and has attended on a regular basis with her two pre-school children, Callum and Kitty for over two years.  Deby is a registered childminder and holds an NVQ Level 2 in Child Care and Education.  She is currently studying for the NVQ Level 3.

Deby’s interest in learning through creative play has fuelled her passionate approach to running MAD classes.  She loves music, and her energy, natural affinity with children and lovely singing voice, make her a brilliant new addition to our team.

Lisa - Lisa has been involved in music and dance since childhood, singing in her school choir and also playing the guitar and recorder.  She trained in ballet and creative dance until the age of 19.  She then worked in dance and drama with special needs children and adults for over 6 years.  She is experienced in the use Jabadeo, which is the use of props with music for Body Intelligence and Movement Play.

Her love of dance inspired her to set up the Highwood Dance Group where she leads classes for the local Children of Woodley and organises and choreographs up to 2 shows per year for the community.

Lisa's varied dance and musical experience mean that our Woodley classes are not to be missed!
